Johnson family continues senior center giveaway

Snowy white gift bags adorned with holiday bows filled a corner of the dining hall at the Jefferson Senior Citizens Center (JSCC) on Thursday, Dec. 7. There were forty-two of them, and each one held gifts for a particular senior, along with lots of love and well wishes.
For the past seven years, this give-away has been a way that the daughters of the late Lizzie and James Johnson have been giving back to the community that raised them. The event was started by Bobbie Johnson Randell. When she passed away earlier this year, the tradition of bringing gift bags to clients of JSCC was continued by her sister, Viola Johnson Cooper.
