Johnston's Meat Market was the place to be in Monticello from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16. Patrick and Danielle Figueroa, owners of Johnston's, spent an exciting Saturday greeting and meeting many community members as the sounds of music and laughter permeated the atmosphere.
The Johnston's grand re-opening celebration included numerous vendor tents offered everything from jam and pottery to beautifully-arranged fresh flowers. Free tastes of a roasted pig were particularly popular, and there were plenty of bargains to be had inside the store, as well.
The Figueroas cut the ribbon with giant scissors at about 11:30 a.m. and the fun continued unabated until 2 p.m.
