Karen Roberta Jones Timms, age 62, retired Nurse from Cross Landings, passed away Nov. 12, 2022, in Monticello, Fla.
Graveside services will be Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at 2 p.m., at Oakfield Cemetery in Monticello, Fla.
Ms. Timms was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and lived in Pt. Mugu, Calif., before moving to Monticello in 1975. She was a Baptist and attended New Hope of God Church. She graduated from Jefferson County High School in 1978 and was an avid FSU/Georgia Bulldog fan. She was also a Hairdresser for many years and a seasonal arts and crafts decorator who adored karaoke and won many contests. She even made a CD at Big Mama's recording studio in Tennessee! She was in the process of writing her memoir to be published. In addition to collecting horse statues, horseshoes and country boots, she also collected big red trucks, blue and white collective patterns, anything with “Believe” on it.
Ms. Timms was preceded in death by her parents, Riley Gene Jones Sr. and Barbara Caroline Brady Jones; and her brother, Riley Gene Jones Jr. She is survived by son, Christopher Timms (Allison), Monticello, Fla.; sister, Kimberli Jones Eure, Monticello, Fla.; grandson, Cohen Scott Timms, Ohio; nephews, Robert Slack (Rebekah), Monticello, Fla., and Mitchell Eure, Hosford, Fla.; great-nephews, Landon Eure, Peyton, and Micah Slack, all from Monticello, Fla.
