Kirk Reams found guilty

After four days of testimony and over six hours of jury deliberation, another chapter in the saga of former Jefferson County Clerk of Courts Kirk Reams has come to a close. At close to 12:45 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 27, a jury of four men and two women returned a verdict of guilty on the charge of grand theft and not guilty on the charge of organized scheme to defraud. The four-day trial took place in front of the Hon. Judge Stephen Everett in the same Jefferson County Courthouse in which Reams served for close to two decades.
