The Aucilla Christian Academy (ACA) Lady Warriors softball team paid tribute to a pair of special Lady Warriors on Thursday, April 8, when the Lady Warriors defeated the Lady Marauders of Maclay School, 11-4.
Anna Lee Trest and Esther Fulford were honored prior to the game. Once the game started, the Lady Warriors quickly took control. The Lady Warriors had a 3-1 lead after the first inning. The Lady Marauders were able to tie the score at three runs apiece after two innings. In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Warriors scored four unanswered runs to take the lead. After giving up one run in the top of the sixth inning, the Lady Warriors added four runs to take the lead for good.
Kaitee Roberts went one-for-three at the plate, with one RBI. Isabella Gray had one hit in her four at-bats, with three RBIs. Lena Kimmell had one hit in her three trips to the batter's box, with one RBI. Lauren Davis went one-for-three, with two RBIs. Riley Rutledge had one hit in three at-bats, with one RBI. Emma Vickers had two hits in her three trips to the batter's box, with two RBIs. Anna Lee Trest was good for one hit and one RBI.
Emma Vickers picked up the win for the Lady Warriors in the pitcher's circle, giving up five hits, one earned run and eight walks while tallying seven strikeouts.
The Lady Warriors have one remaining home game on Monday, April 19, when the Lady Warriors face the Lady Lions from Leon High School. The first pitch is set for 4 p.m.
