
Lamont Truck Stop challenges county’s denial

The Jefferson County Commission’s denial of an application by a California-based company to build a major truck stop at the intersection of U.S 19 and Nash Road is being challenged in court.
County Attorney Evan Rosenthal informed the commission on Thursday evening, April 17, that representatives of the Solaro Land Company had filed a complaint in circuit court to have the board’s Feb. 20 decision overturned. He said the county had 40 days to respond to the legal challenge.
