When school's out, the Jefferson County R.J. Bailar Library's annual Summer Reading Program is in! Though it isn't quite yet time for the summer break, the library's plans for the upcoming 2025 Summer Reading Program have been announced.
This year's theme, “Color Our World,” emphasizes creativity and art in harmony with reading. According to Library Director Natalie Binder, art bags will be given out to participating children, there will be weekly crafting opportunities at the library, and animated movies will be shown every Friday. Patrons are also encouraged to consider what they would like to learn about art, because the library will have “really good new books on the history of colors, art history, crafts, and famous artists,” according to Binder.
As the program approaches, additional details will be announced regarding its activities, specific events and opportunities for patrons.
