The Jefferson County R.J. Bailar Public Library has launched a fresh monthly newsletter, informing the community of their upcoming free activities. So, what's on the agenda for April?
• Senior Bingo from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays
• Social Services Help from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Wednesday
• April 9: Toddler Storytime with a unicorn-themed craft from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
• April 10: Board Game Day (Fire Tower) from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
• April 14: Teen Lounge Ramen Bar, including build-your-own ramen bowls with a variety of toppings, boba tea and the showing of an animated movie, from 4 to 5:30 p.m..
• April 15: Casual Crafts, during which participants paint their own decorative “book brick” from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Supplies provided. Note that RSVP is required for this event.
• April 16: Toddler Storytime with a dinosaur-themed craft from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
• April 16: Crochet Club from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Supplies will be provided.
• April 18: Beginner Music Hour—bring your own stringed instrument or borrow one provided by the library to learn its basics, including tuning, plucking and chords, from 1 to 2 p.m.
• April 23-28: The Monticello Book Trail — in honor of National Library Week, pick up a stamp card from the library and collect stamps from participating local businesses. Once the card is filled, you can return it to the library for a free entry to a basket raffle.
• April 23: Toddler Storytime with a wildflower-themed craft, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
• April 24: A family movie night showing of WALL-E, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
• April 28: Adult Book Club discussing “The Widow” by John Grisham, from 2 to 3 p.m.
• April 28: Teen Lounge Arcade Night — enjoy playing games on the Nintendo Switch, free pizza and fun with friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
• April 29: Casual Crafts, during which participants will paint and decorate their own birdhouse to take home from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Supplies provided. Note that RSVP is required for this event.
• April 30: Toddler Storytime with a pet-themed craft and visit by a puppy friend, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Additionally, attending the Board Game Day (April 10), Teen Lounges (April 14 and 28), Casual Crafts (April 15 and 29) or Family Movie Night (April 24) grants students of Jefferson County K-12 Community Partnership School the opportunity to earn school currency, Tiger Bucks. Students must attend the event for at least 30 minutes, take a selfie with the Student Government Association President Alesshia James and send the photo to Ms. Goodwin to earn $50 in Tiger Bucks.
