The state of Florida offers license-free fishing days to residents and non-residents for freshwater and saltwater fishing. The next license-free saltwater fishing day is on Saturday, Sept. 7.
On this day, the saltwater waiver applies to any recreational harvest requiring a saltwater fishing license, such as crabbing, lobstering, scalloping, fishing from shore or boat; etc. A snook or spiny lobster permit is also not required during this day.
License-free days provide an opportunity for those who do not have a fishing license to go fishing, take youth fishing or introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license.
All other rules – such as season, bag and size limits apply. For more information visit https://myfwc.com/about/rules-regulations/.
