
Life cups and the promise of Easter
Imagine that you are holding a cup of coffee when someone bumps into you, making you spill your coffee everywhere.
Why was coffee spilled? Because someone bumped into you? Yes, but the greater truth is your coffee spilled because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been water or tea in your cup, you would have spilled water or tea. Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.
In a parallel comparison, when life comes along and shakes us up, which will eventually happen, whatever is inside us will spill out. We might be able to put up a good front, but when everything hits the fan and we get rattled whatever is deep inside tends to spill out.
