Lightning strike results in residential fire

Jefferson County Fire Rescue (JCFR) responded to an incident in Ashville on July 6, following a lightning strike which resulted in the burning of a workshop building that was being used as a residence. Per JCFR's report, at approximately 11:20 a.m., JCFR was dispatched to a possible brush fire that was ignited by a lightning strike.
