Rumors around town and on social media have been about the local Badcock stores and if they will be closing. Monticello News has been in contact with local Badcock owners since these rumors started. Parent company, Conn's filed for bankruptcy last week and they purchased Badcock back in December. The stores will not be closing by any means but only going through a process of rebranding to stay under the Badcock name or changing the name to either stay with the same inventory, staff and location.
An inventory liquidation sale started on Thursday, July 25, and will run until Thursday, October 31, so that the old merchandise will go out to bring in new merchandise. Sale prices will begin from anywhere from 30 percent to 50 percent. The company is very excited to begin this new journey and looks forward to helping provide for the community with its same excellent customer service.
Steven Anderson, area Badcock manager, said “The Badcock stores are looking forward to not being affiliated with the Conn's Company and to be able to go to the same Badcock that people have known and loved for many years.”
Regarding the future name of Badcock, Anderson stated he isn't sure if the name will stay the same, but the location and staff will remain the same.
