Local carpenter suffers fatal fall

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. On Thursday, Feb. 8, local emergency officials responded to an alert about an accident involving a local carpenter, who has been identified as Johnny Ellis. According to the incident summary provided by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO), upon receiving the call, JCSO and Jefferson County Fire Rescue (JCFR) responded to the Old Lloyd area to provide aid to Ellis, who had plummeted from the top of a church building while replacing a section of the rooftop. Upon arriving at the scene, JCFR paramedics pronounced Ellis deceased at the scene, and the incident was ruled an accidental death. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
