After two years of postponing travel following the 2019 COVID-19 outbreak, local churches have decided to resume efforts towards their Annual Church Trip events with a recent trip to Mississippi and Alabama.
Elizabeth AME and Union Bethel AME returned this week from their 10th Annual Church Trip. This trip took the group to Jackson, Miss., where they stayed for two nights. The group then traveled to Montgomery, Al., where they also spent two nights. Leman Ulee, who works as Trip Coordinator for the churches, indicated that this year's trip was an awesome event, adding that both cities the group visited had ample history for the travelers to enjoy, and that the trip was very educational and fun.
The transportation was provided by Astro Travel Charter Bus Company, and this year's group stayed at Embassy Suites in both cities. Leman stated that resuming the annual trip was a great opportunity for the group to get some fresh air and relax after two years of non-travel due to COVID.
Pastor Stefon McBride is the pastor for both churches, and is looking forward to next year's trip. While the destination has not yet been determined, anyone who is interested in participating in next year's trip is welcome and encouraged to reach out for more information at (850) 274-6268.
