Local organizations team up to build ramp for Jefferson County family

Bright and early on Monday, Nov. 25, hardworking individuals from three local organizations met at the home of the Leonard family to build a new ramp connected to their porch so the family could have a more easily accessible entrance.
FL Cares, Inc., owned by Eric Evans, is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that builds free accessible home entrances for residents in need in Jefferson, Leon, Gadsden and Wakulla counties. These can be in the form of wheelchair ramps, half-steps, grab bars, landings or any other needed features to increase accessibility of the entrance and independence for the homeowner.
