Love your garden to the moon and back

In February we begin the exciting transition from winter crops into springtime plantings. In many cultures whose calendars take into account both lunar and solar cycles, the first day of spring in 2024 will be tomorrow, Feb. 10, when there's a new moon. From this point, the lit part of the moon will be waxing until we see a full moon in two weeks' time, on Feb. 24. Then the moon wanes gradually for the following two weeks until we have the next new moon.
As I've thought about embarking on spring with this new moon, it seemed a good time to take a look at gardening in sync with moon phases. This ancient practice persists in many places around the world. E
