How many forms of art have been lost to time? The hustle and bustle of the modern world has ushered many skills that were once necessary into obscurity once they were deemed impractical. Too many art forms have faded or are still fading, kept alive by only a dedicated few.
One vanishing art form is white oak basketry. Today, only a few maintain the practice across the country, but it was once a flourishing skill. One important local figure in basketry was Lucreaty Clark, a lifelong resident of Lamont and winner of the 1985 Florida Folk Heritage Award.
