Maddie Grace lives to race

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. For 13-year-old Maddie Grace, the word “race” is in more than just her name, it's in her blood. As a Go-Kart racer, she lives for the thrill of fast karts and lightning-fast maneuvers, and has been racing now for the last two years. Racing is a family matter; Maddie's grandfather, Mike Dyer, grew up racing Sprint Cars, also called “dirt cars,” and his two sons raced dragsters. Maddie was brought along to various races in the hopes that she, too, would take a liking to the family passions, and this was successful – the thrill of the race piqued her interest. That is, until she noticed a Go-Kart track across the street from the dirt track. Af
