Mae Eva Thomas Lane, 85, of Monticello, Fla., passed on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Northside Church of Christ, with burial in Texas Hill Cemetery. Viewing/visitation is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 16, at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553).
Mrs. Lane was a 1957 graduate of Monticello's Howard Academy High School. She had lived in Huntington Long Island, NY for many years before returning home. She had been a Certified Dietician, working primarily in the Nursing Home Industry. Her passion was attending church.
Among her survivors are her sons: Willie L. (Crystal) Davis, Shelly (Toni) Lane, Harold (Diedre) Lane, Sr. and Stanley (Nicole) Lane; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and countless other relatives and friends. Preceding Mrs. Lane in death were her parents, Willie “Bill” Thomas and Dora Mae Payne Thomas, who were prominent landowners and farmers in Jefferson County. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Huggins and two sisters, Helen Thomas Hill and Mary Thomas.
