Major John Haynes receives final salute

On Monday, Dec. 11, family, friends and fellow veterans paid their last respects to Major John Haynes, who passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Haynes was laid to rest at Tallahassee National Cemetery, in Tallahassee, Fla.
Haynes was a beloved hero who served in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years, seeing combat action in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. He was internationally regarded for his innovations in Explosive Ordinance Disposal, which were credited for saving many lives.
Haynes continued his devotion to country for almost 50 years, working to help fellow veterans receive benefits and care after their retirement.
