On March 3, the Tourist Development Council (TDC) started getting to work on a project to make Monticello a little more fun for visitors or anyone else who wants a fun photo op. Though it isn't quite finished yet, the TDC has set up a sign/photo op welcoming visitors to historic Monticello. There will even be a small circle towards the bottom that says, "Loving the local life!" A local man in town made the sign, and it is now set up just off the roundabout, on the northeast corner.
The reason for its placement is that the sign has a large open space cut out, so that passerby's can stop and take a picture with the gorgeous, historic Court House in the background. Once the sign is done, they will have a ribbon-cutting to make it even more official. The TDC is excited to have this new addition to Monticello and hopes that it will offer anyone an excellent photo opportunity in the city, with the historic Court House in the background.
