Man arrested after going 70 in a school zone

According to a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department report, on Wednesday, March 19, a vehicle was seen traveling 70 mph in the school zone located at David Road and S. Jefferson Hwy. Upon observing the vehicle's failure to adhere to the 45 mph limit, a Traffic Unit Deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as a man by the name of Mikal Keys, failed to stop when prompted by the deputy, and proceeded to travel northbound with law enforcement in pursuit.
