Man arrested during drug bust

Jefferson County Sheriffs Office Contributor On Monday, June 17, 2024, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 730 E. Chestnut St. in Monticello. During the operation, Floyd Melvin Seabrooks Jr. was arrested for three outstanding warrants for the sale of a controlled substance (cocaine) within 1000 feet of a church. After Seabrooks was arrested, the residence was searched, and a large amount of crack cocaine (44 grams), powder cocaine (14 grams), and marijuana (84.4 grams) were discovered.
