Mary (May Alice) Thompson was born on November 1,1952 to the late Mr. Virgil and Genieve Thompson. On Friday, September 25, 2020, she heard the Master’s call and collected her wings to fly to her heavenly home.
A lifelong resident of Monticello, FL, Mary attended Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She was a cook for many years, having recently retired.
Mary Alice's love and legacy will be forever preserved in the hearts of her two daughters, Lori, Thompson and Genette Thompson-Smith of Monticello, Fla., two sons, Christopher Thompson Sr. (Ruby) and Henry Woody of Monticello, Fla., two sisters, Lena Moore (Edward) and Carolyn Thompson of Monticello, Fla., five grandchildren, Melinda, Nikidra, Sharoya, Dishay and Christopher Jr., six great-grandchildren, Khia, Ariel, Carter, Zayden, Christopher III and Christashia along with a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, loving companion Henry Woody Sr., sister Ranie Thompson, brother Andrew Thompson Sr. and daughter-in-law Yolando Williams-Woody.
Hagan Funeral Service (850) 997-1300 is in charge of the arrangements. Graveside service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Sneed Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, October 2, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Hagan Funeral Service 175 North Railroad Street, Monticello, Fla. 32344.
