Meet your neighbor: Cetta Barnhart

Hailey Heseltine ECB Publishing, Inc. Meet Cetta Barnhart, a Jefferson County resident of nearly 28 years with a strong dedication to caring for her community. Barnhart was born and raised in Philadelphia. She ended up moving to North Florida because of her family's connections to Cairo, Ga., and her interest in studying at a university that would be in the area. She chose Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), which she says she has always had her heart set on, and moved to the area to attend. “It was FAMU that brought me here,” says Barnhart, “and it was marriage that kept me here.” At FAMU, she earned a bachelor's degree over the span of several years.
