Meet your neighbor: David Lawrence

Hailey Heseltine ECB Publishing, Inc. Meet David Lawrence, a hardworking longtime resident whose family has been here for several generations. He is happy to have been born and raised in the small town of Monticello, where he can enjoy quiet life free of all the hustle and bustle present in cities. “I like it 'cause there's not a lot of people here,” he says, “and I like that it's not like Tallahassee.” Though Lawrence is presently retired, he used to be a roofer and painter for a living, which he says he took up because he needed “anything that came up.” He shares an amusing story about why he felt the need to simply take up any option presented; he attended Jefferson High
