American Legion Otto M. Walker Post 49 and its Auxiliary Unit will hold their Annual Memorial Day Breakfast and Program on Monday, May 31 beginning at 8 a.m., located at 1065 S. Water St., in Monticello.
This event is free to area veterans; donations will be gratefully accepted from others. Major John Haynes will speak briefly to the guests about Memorial Day before the meal is served. The breakfast of eggs, sausage, grits, fruit, biscuits, juice and coffee will be prepared and served by the American Legion members.
The winning ticket for the group's gun raffle will be pulled during this event. The gun is a Mil. Spec. AR15, custom built by Robinson Gunworks. Tickets can still be purchased until the drawing by contact Post Commander Ken Faircloth at (850) 509-2628.
American Legion meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.
