Milestones on our road of life
Those were the days! We could eat like a horse and not look like one. All of the school teachers were older than us. Professional athletes were about the age of our older brother. Life was an open highway.
Then came the subtle hints of mortality. What was tight now sags. What once swung now bounces. Everything hurts when you wake up. What doesn’t hurt, doesn’t work.
Growing older. Aging. We can laugh about it, make jokes about it, and groan about it, but we can’t stop it.
I’m amongst the many who age a year this month. Reality has hit. When I was young, I made a lot of faces in the mirror. Now, the mirror is getting even. All my life I was taught to respect my elders. Now I am one
