The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center of Monticello (MLK Center) has special events planned for Monday, Jan. 15, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth and life. The MLK Jr. Day parade entrants should line up at Capital City Bank on South Jefferson Street beginning at 10 a.m. There is no fee for participation. Questions about participating in the parade can be directed to Parade Chairman Leo Russell at (850) 322-9002 or Parade Co-chair Althera Johnson at (850) 933-2012.
