Monday is Presidents Day

Americans set aside the third Monday in February to honor two of our country's most prominent presidents: George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. What began in the 1880s as a celebration of Washington's birthday on Feb. 22 was expanded to recognize Lincoln, whose birthday is Feb. 12. Nowadays, this federal holiday is often seen as an opportunity to note the significance of any U.S. president.
Some businesses and offices close for the day, including banks and federal buildings. Locally, it is a school holiday as well. Whether you have the day off or not, consider these ways to be a part of the holiday:
