On Sunday, April 11, the Monticello Church of Christ had two young men as guest speakers. Isaiah Peeler, who is the current Monticello Church of Christ’s preacher, Nathan Peeler, brother, spoke on Genesis 3 during the Sunday morning worship service. Isaiah emphasized how sin has defiled everything that God established; but in His Grace, He chose to work through Abraham to provide salvation to all people (Gen 12:1-3).
During the evening service, Kayvon Richards spoke on Genesis 32, where Jacob wrestled with God. He called upon Christians to remember that when they pray for God to change their hearts, it is not a simple and easy process.
Sometimes, we all wrestle with giving God full control and changing us into the people that we need to be. Both Isaiah and Kayvon gave positive and encouraging messages for God’s people to reflect on. Isaiah and Kayvon are both enrolled in Florida College, a small Christian college in Tampa, Fla.
Both young men want to be involved in ministry but plan to have other jobs as well. Kayvon is enlisted in the Untied States Marine Corps and will start basic training in South Carolina, this summer. His future passion is to help plant churches in areas where there are few. Isaiah is a freshman in college, and although his major is undecided, his long-term passion is to help small churches grow and prosper.
