Monticello man found dead - ECB Publishing, Inc.

On Saturday, April 13, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) was alerted to complaints of an individual lying in a Monticello yard near Martin Luther King St., reportedly unresponsive. MPD responded to the scene and confirmed that there was a black male lying on the ground who was unable to respond. Jefferson County Fire Rescue was called in to assess, and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators with MPD, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department (JCSO), Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrived on the scene to process and gather evidence.
