Monticello man killed in crash

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc. At 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, a fatal car crash occurred at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 90 and Tallamont Rd. in western Jefferson County. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report indicates that a 66-year-old man who resided in Monticello was traveling in an easterly direction on U.S. Hwy. 90 approaching Tallamont Rd. For unknown reasons, the man's vehicle left the roadway to the right and collided with a tree. The man, who was later identified as David Harrell, was pronounced deceased on the scene. FHP was assisted during the investigation by the Jefferson County EMS and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
