Monticello native makes Lions Den in the 2024 Firefighter Challenge

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. It takes no short amount of strength, courage and tenacity to be a firefighter. The job can be dangerous, not to mention emotionally and physically demanding. To celebrate and showcase the skills and athleticism required to be a firefighter, the First Responder Institute organizes and hosts a special annual event called The Firefighter Challenge. For over 30 years, firefighters from across the state compete annually for the fastest time while executing six job-specific tasks that firefighters experience while working in the field.
