Monticello native receives 2025 State of Florida Driver of the Year Award

Frequita Barrington Contributor It has been a long journey for Monticello native Bernard Huggins: Three scores and a decade plus of life’s high and lows; millions of miles driven; and an impact on hundreds of lives over a half century in a career he loves. Monticello native Bernard Huggins is a “Bus Driver.” It is a title he wears with a proud and welcoming smile. On Sept. 4, 2025, Huggins was honored at the 2025 Florida Public Transportation Association’s (FPTA) Convention held in St
