Monticello Police Department kickstarts city’s first K9 Unit

Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. On Saturday, Nov. 9, the Monticello Police Department made an important new addition to their law-enforcement team: K-9 Loretta and K-9 Chops! After some research about if any Florida agencies were donating K-9s, MPD was connected with Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), which had a litter of puppies available for donation to a working K-9 program. These two canine siblings were donated together, and have officially begun their training with the assistance of Tallahassee Police Department.
