Monticello welcomes The Rakkasan – Art & Collectables

As dusk approached on Veterans Day in downtown Monticello, bright lights shone out from the windows of a new business in town, as The Rakkasan - Art & Collectables held its grand opening. Customers, passersby and members of the Monticello-Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce gathered in the shop's welcoming courtyard on Cherry Street, where a symbolic red ribbon had been draped across the entry. Chamber Director Theresa Sterling read a proclamation, officially welcoming the gallery to the Jefferson County business community, and The Rakkasan owner Jerome “Jay” Reilly cut the red ribbon.
