More lighting coming to U.S. 19 interchange and at Waukeenah Highway

Better roadway lighting may soon be coming to the intersection of U.S. 19 and Waukeenah Highway, as well as to the section of road between Thompson Valley and Nash roads at the U.S. 19 and I-10 interchange. The Florida Department of Transportation recently informed county officials that the agency had contracted with Duke Energy for the installation of roadway lighting at the two named locations. “Included in this agreement is the addition of lighting along U.S. 19 from the intersection of Waukeenah Highway south to approximately CVS,” Jonathan Harris, FDOT utility administrator for District 3, emailed county officials earlier this year.
