What an incredible evening we had last week! On Tuesday, Sept. 15, we gathered for our annual budget presentation, and I am thrilled to report that it was a resounding success. The energy in the room was contagious, and the shared vision for our county’s future was clearer and brighter than ever.
Beyond the numbers and spreadsheets, what truly stood out was the incredible spirit of collaboration. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our Board of County Commissioners. Their unwavering support, leadership and dedication to this community are the bedrock of everything we are working to achieve. With the support of the Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners, this county will be amazing!
We all know the world out there can feel pretty divisive at times. It seems like every time you turn on the TV or scroll through social media, people are finding reasons to pull apart. But folks like us in small towns know better. Here in Jefferson County, we have a special way of looking past the noise, pulling together and lending a helping hand to our neighbors. When we focus on lifting each other up and making sure everyone succeeds, our whole community thrives.
Great communities are built by people who care deeply about where they live, work and play. Whether we are improving our county infrastructure, enhancing public services or simply freshening up our community spaces, every effort reflects our collective pride of ownership. As I like to say, a little bit of paint goes a long way! But real transformation goes far beyond fresh paint on a wall – it starts with the pride we carry in our hearts and display in our daily lives.
As your County Manager, my goal is simple: all I want Jefferson County to do is win in everything that we do.
Now that the initial budget presentation is behind us, it is time to keep this winning momentum rolling. I encourage each and every one of you to stand up and take pride in what you do and say. Be an ambassador for our home, speak positively about the great things happening across Monticello and Jefferson County, look out for your neighbors and stay connected with what's happening around town. When we speak with pride, act with care and stand united behind a shared vision, there is nothing our community cannot accomplish.
