Lisa Parker and her four year old daughter, Liliana, stopped at a local gas station to pick up some candy and got so much more. As they entered the store, Liliana was excited to see two deputies in uniform inside the store. When they got ready to leave, little Liliana asked Corporal Freeman and Deputy Krajewski for a sticker, as the Parker children collect Sheriff stickers at home. Much to her surprise and delight, the officers told her they had something special for her that was even better than a Sheriff sticker, and led her to their vehicles. After a moment of looking, they each emerged from their cars with a gift. Corporal Freeman presented her with a drug free badge, and Deputy Krajewski gave a stuffed teddy bear. Liliana was so delighted, she asked to have a photo taken with her two new friends and the gifts they gave her.
Liliana has named the bear Mr. Jefferson, a name inspired by a law-enforcement friend of the family named Anderson who lives in Leon County, while these gifts were graciously given in Jefferson County. Mr. Jefferson will be well-loved and well cared for in his new home, and serves to remind the Parkers every day of the kindness of the local law-enforcement officers, who put their lives on the line to serve and protect the citizens in Jefferson County. Deputies at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office serve our community tirelessly, and it is often a thankless job. The Parker family, little Liliana especially, would like to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for their good work in the community and their dedication to serving the people they protect. Whether it is with prevention education and stuffed bears for little children at the gas station, or dangerous crime control and law enforcement, the community is grateful for your service.
