Multiple JCS construction projects underway

Laura Young ECB Publishing, Inc. Jefferson County Schools has four construction projects actively underway at the present time. One involves a wrecking ball at the old Water Street campus, and the other three are improvements at the newer David Road campus. At a special meeting on Oct. 23, 2023, the Jefferson County School Board approved the demolition of a building at 575 S. Water St. that includes the old cafeteria and an adjoining room.
