The Lord called home one of his finest when Neva Furuseth Cooper, 68, entered into rest on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.
She passed peacefully at home, with her husband, John, by her side.
Neva loved the Lord, her family and friends. She had a loving and giving heart, and truly cared for other people. She was born on Feb. 14, 1953, in St. Charles, Mo., to Owen and Loraine Furuseth. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leslie Furuseth.
Neva graduated from Florida State University with an English degree and studied accounting at the University of North Florida. She taught school in Orange Park, Fla., and relocated to Atlanta, Ga., where she worked in accounting and customer service. In addition, she was the office manager for her husband’s practice, Cooper Psychological Services, for many years.
Neva is survived by her husband, Dr. John Cooper, the love of her life for 46 years. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Owen Furuseth (Harriet); aunts, Patricia Furuseth and Margaret Furuseth; step-daughter, Anna McCambridge-Thomas (Matthew); nephews, Andrew Furuseth (Brad Buland), Bob Wilkins (Heidi), Bill Price (Gittel) and Jim Cooper (Karen); nieces, Amanda Faist (Ben), Lydia Nisenson (Dave), Stephanie Smith (Doug) and Brenda Broadway; grand nephews and nieces as well as many cousins and devoted friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Allen & Allen Funeral Home, 110 W. Hansell St., in Thomasville, Ga., on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at 3 p.m. The family will then gather for a reception at The Plaza Restaurant from 4 to 6 p.m. Beverages and hors d'oeuvre will be served.
