Plans are currently underway to develop a new baseball league for North Florida that will extend from Pensacola eastward to Jacksonville. The league will include the uppermost 33 counties of Florida and consist of two divisions: The Panhandle Western Division (Districts One and Two) and the Big Bend Eastern Division (Districts Three and Four), each Division Separated by the Apalachicola River.
The purpose of the league is to establish a venue for those who have completed their high school baseball career and who have a desire to continue playing the game into their early 20’s and beyond in an organized and highly competitive baseball league.
The league’s website states that the league “has grown from four teams in its first year to over 25 teams in the past five years. The mission of NFBL has remained constant, to promote amateur baseball in the North Florida area. With the expansion of our developmental and exposure teams, we now offer players the opportunity to engage with coaches who promote high character and purpose driven instruction.”
