New bill aims to lower age for buying guns

A bill has been introduced in the Florida Legislature for the 2026 session that seeks to lower the minimum age for the purchase of firearms in the state.
House Bill 133, introduced by House Majority Leader Tyler Sirois, of District 31, would lower the legal age for the purchase of rifles and other long firearms from the current 21 years of age to 18.
