New city clerk/treasurer is sworn in

Newly-appointed Monticello City Clerk/Treasurer Kathryn “Kathy” Radford took her oath of office earlier this week.
The brief ceremony, administered by County Judge Bobby Plaines, took place in the council chamber at city hall, with Mayor Gloria Cox in attendance.
The council appointed Radford as city clerk on Thursday evening, June 20, to fill the vacancy left by James Griffin, the former clerk who resigned the office for health reasons.
Griffin, elected last November, served only about six months of a four-year term, which Radford is now expected to complete.
