The community of Lloyd has a new aromatic business. On Saturday, Oct. 22, the doors of My Gypsy Soul Boutique opened. It is a cozy shop of vegan handmade oil soaps, goat milk soaps, body oils, bath bombs, candles, incense sticks, clothing, accessories and unique gifts.
The aroma at the door hints at the variety of fragrances of the products. Choices for scents vary for the vegan, goats' milk or hemp soaps. Popular bouquets are Peppermint, Lemon Verbena, Grapefruit Sugar Beach Daze, Black Chamomile, Jazzy Jasmine, Peaches and Cream, White Gardenia and many more. Among the distinctive gift items is a cork key chain.
One customer, Susan Graves, said, “I love the soaps. They are good, and they make my skin feel and look good.”
Graves and her husband, residents of Tallahassee, made the trip from Leon County to celebrate the Grand Opening and said, “She is glad that the boutique is open.” Graves started purchasing products from the boutique's online store, Raesapothecary.com.
The owner of My Gypsy Soul Boutique, Rachel Herman, moved from Tallahassee to Lloyd and is an accountant by profession. She began making handmade soaps, candles and oils during Covid. Her online store, Rae's Apothecary, is still online at www.raesapothecary.com. What began as a hobby with gifts she gave to friends and family is now a dream realized. She has and appreciates the support of her parents and family and looks forward to being a part of the Lloyd business community.
Her vision is to support local artists and crafters. She is accepting art and handmade works on consignment. Consignments should be made in person to Rachel from Friday through Sunday or may be submitted with pictures via email. The store is located at 8793 Old Lloyd Rd., Lloyd, Fla. The store is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12-4 p.m. For further information, call (850) 345-8902 or email raesapothecarystore@ gmail.com.
