Next Who We Were event to be held on May 6

Hailey Heseltine ECB Publishing, Inc. The Who We Were series, a grant-funded series of talks on the history of Jefferson County families delivered by local speakers, will have another session coming up on Monday, May 6. The speaker for the latest session will be Margaret Byrd Jones. She will be speaking on the history of the Byrd family, one of Jefferson County's founding families, and how their presence has influenced the county through the generations. Jones is the sister of Dr. Flossie M. Byrd, who was valedictorian of the Howard Academy class of 1944 and wrote several books about Jefferson County history during her time, including the history of the Byrd family. This Who We Were se
