The Monticello News recently reported that the primary for the city clerk race would be held in August. This was incorrect, as there are only two candidates in the race, James C. Griffin and Dr. Vivian “Judy” Hall Royster.
The two candidates will instead face off in the general election, which is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7.
Elections Office Chief Deputy Lee Davis reports that both early voting and voting in the general election will be held at the Supervisor of Elections Office at 1175 W. Washington Street.
Early voting will be held 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, through Saturday, Nov. 4. Citizens are reminded to bring photo identification when coming to cast their ballots.
Meanwhile, the general election is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, also at the elections office.
