Everyone needs supporters and fans, even organizations. John and Marjorie Finlayson have been supporters and fans of Aucilla Christian Academy(ACA) since the school was founded in 1970. Recently, the Lady Warriors volleyball team stopped by their house to return the favor.
In the years BC (Before COVID) Mr. and Mrs. Finlayson attended every home sporting event, whether it was boys or girls sports. It didn’t matter who or what sport. The Finlaysons are the biggest fans of ACA. Since the arrival of COVID-19, they rarely leave their house, so the volleyball team paid them a visit, bringing their signs to express thanks to the Finlaysons for all their support. The couple has two sons, both of whom graduated from ACA, and Richard currently serves as the school’s principal.
Mr. Finlayson was one of ACA’s original members of the board of directors and served for about 20 years. The school was started in 1970 with help from North Florida Christian Academy in Tallahassee. In 1973, NFC ended their oversight of ACA and the school separated. During that time, ACA’s building, constructed in 1927, was purchased from the Jefferson County schools.
For 50 years of support, the Finlayson’s are two of the longest supporting fans the Warriors have!
