Number of Caregivers for people with Alzheimer’s is growing

Florida is No. 2 in the nation for the number of people living with Alzheimer’s, with more than 580,000 Floridians aged 65 and older living with the disease. The number of caregivers devoted to them is even higher, and growing rapidly. A 2024 report from the Alzheimer's Association indicates that the number of caregivers has now grown to more than 840,000 in Florida. The increase is significant: 13,000 more since last year's report and 34,000 more since the 2022 report.
